Chargers place Leber on IR

The San Diego Chargers placed fourth-year linebacker Ben Leber on “Reserve-Injured� and signed safety Scott McGarrahan to the active roster. Leber has a foot injury.

LT gets NFL Honors

LaDainian Tomlinson was named AFC Offensive  Players of the Week for games played the 12th week of the 2005 season (November 24, 27-28), the NFL announced today.

LaDainian Tomlinson carried the ball 25 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-winning 41-yard run in overtime, for a 23-17 win at Washington.  The victory was San Diego’s fourth in a row, propelling the team to 7-4 in the AFC West.  Tomlinson’s other two scoring runs were from one yard in the first quarter for the game’s first score and from 32 yards with 1:07 left in regulation to tie the score at 17-17, forcing overtime.  Tomlinson, the No. 2 rusher in the AFC with 1,086 yards, gained 147 of his 184 yards in the second half and overtime as the Chargers overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.  The 26-year-old from Rosebud, Texas (160 miles northwest of Houston) also became the seventh player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first five seasons.

In his fifth season from TCU, this is Tomlinson’s sixth Player of the Week award and his second of the season (Week 6).

The NFL.com voting closed early due to the Thursday games. It was a close one but Merriman pulled it out!

Even though Antonio Gates injury doesn’t appear to be serious. The Chargers are looking to bring a tight end for practice while Gates recovers.

Busy Tuesday

On the Bolts “day off” it was a busy morning, but for a good cause. LT distributed 1000 Thanksgiving dinners to families in need early Tuesday morning in Chula Vista.
